Start Your Road Trip

June 2020 marked our very first virtual college road trip! The positive response and active participation exceeded expectations. The month-long journey offered student-led virtual college tours, information sessions with college admissions directors and onsite Hillel reps with real insights on Jewish campus life, Q&A discussions, workshops, relevant articles and more. We look forward to and hope you will join us for our next trip, coming Spring 2021.

How It Works

Follow us here and on social during the college road trip for daily updates on virtual tours and information sessions, and to get the most out of your experience.

#JumpOnTheBus and follow our student 'bus drivers' on Instagram Stories to get their insider guides to their campus and college towns -what they love, what makes the place special, and what Jewish life is like there. More than a virtual tour, here's your chance to see things through a student's eyes. Reference each college page for social links, dates and times of these tours.

Join us for formal information sessions for each college.

These sessions will be led by college admissions directors and representatives, Hillel on-campus reps, and student leaders.

Register for sessions ahead of time; registration link provided on each college page.

Creating a College List

Sometimes the hardest part of the application process is knowing where to begin. With the increasing cost of higher education, choosing colleges requires more than just writing down the names of schools with the best football teams or your parents’ alma maters. Creating a well-researched and balanced list ensures that students have a variety of college options at the end of senior year. To help you get started, Kim Roman, an experienced educational consultant and the owner of Custom College Planning, will provide you with factors to consider as you build your “best-fit” college list.

Testing in 2020

Much has changed in the world of standardized testing in the last several weeks - spring SAT and ACT test dates have been postponed, APs were taken at home, and the ACT's move to computer-based testing, anticipated for September may be here sooner. Almost every day another college announces they will be "test optional", but does that mean students should be opting out of testing altogether? Join Applerouth's founder, Jed Applerouth, PhD, for a thorough investigation of what we know about standardized testing for the year 2020.
